For the awning fabrics acrylic or polyester fibres are used. Acrylic fabrics are highly resistant to the aggressive power of the sun. Unprotected fibres of polyester, cotton, nylon, polyethylene or similar lose their tensile strength over the course of time. The effect of ultraviolet radiation on the strength of acrylic fabrics is much lower. As a basic substance, acrylic protects the colour particles in the fibres so that the colours stay radiant and fresh longer.Soiling caused by air pollution is best brushed off dry at regular intervals using a soft brush. Small stains should be treated as follows:
- Scrub by hand at approx. 30° using a standard brand of washing powder.
- Rinse several times with clear water.
- Repeat until the fabric is clean (remove all detergent residues).
- Allow cover to dry.
- If the material needs waterproofing, use tent impregnation spray.
Transolair is the name of an awning fabric of branded acrylic with a special hole pattern arrangement. This provides a clear view to the outside with an excellent shade effect. These fabrics are therefore ideal for providing both shade and a view to the outside. Transolair is particularly ideal for conservatory awnings and window blinds. Dark colours comply with the requirements of the EU display workstation regulations.
swela awning fabrics are provided with a water-repellent substance which protects them not only from water, but also grease. Oil simply rolls off similar to water.
